The three commissions shown here were all done for different occasions. One for my brother Bob on his 65th birthday - starting with baby pictures, graduation from high school and college, wedding pictures, picture of him with his family at various stages of their lives, a picture of him with his now deceased dog "Tuppence", and so forth. For a man who has everything, this was the PERFECT gift!
Both of the other pictures are of quilts which were commissioned. One commissioned by the parents of a young woman who was graduating from college. The piece began with a picture of Rachel and her mother on the day she was born. Then a favorite poem. From those two pieces, there radiated childhood pictures, pictures of family members on special occasions, her cats, and her friends.
The last one was commissioned by a woman whose sister was celebrating her 80th birthday. She designated three picture to be the 'center' - her sister's baby picture, her sister's wedding picture, and her sister with her six sibling. Many other family pictures radiated from these. You can imagine Dotty's joy when she opened this treasure!
Memory Quilts are very personal. Once you decide on the pictures to be included, you send them to me. I make copies of your originals - sizing them up or down as the size of the piece requires. I return your originals to you immediately - you get them back just the way you gave them to me. Most Memory quilts are used as wall hangings or lap quilts and are usually not bigger than sixty inches square. Many are much smaller depending on the number of pictures used.
I charge $35 per photograph for memory quilts. The minimum charge for a memory quilt is $300.
