Christmas is such a special occasion! What a perfect opportunity to commission a quilt for a special person - or family - on your gift list.
As you can see from these photos, there are Christmas tree skirts, wall hangings, table runners - and even, a full size bed quilt! I made the piece with the whimsical snowmen/women for my daughter last year for Christmas. There's a total of six snow-characters in it - it's called a 'topper'. It's long and narrow - fits over the back of a sofa - or over the top of your bed pillows - or as she uses it, over the railing of of her loft. It's the first thing you see as you enter her home.
Christmas is so magical - it's my favorite time of year! There are myriad ideas for wonderful keepsake quilts. I made the wreath shown here - the one with the red bow - as a traveling gift. My sister and her husband have four children - all adults with families now - and each of them hosts the family party on a rotating basis. I made this gift - as a memento of my love of affection for their family. Whoever hosts the family party gets to hang the quilt in their home for the season. In a way, I feel like a small part of me is there to share their Christmas celebration each year.
